Algemeen
Wat is de Q-serie?
De Q-serie is showcontrol- en audiosoftware voor theaters, show callers, geluidsontwerpers en AV-integrators. Er zijn drie apps: QBridge koppelt je bediening aan QLab en QRoom, QRoom speelt je audiocues af en QEdit is een stereo audio-editor voor showgeluid. Elke app werkt op zichzelf, en samen vormen ze de hele keten van audiobestand tot GO.
Wat zijn de systeemeisen?
macOS 13 Ventura of nieuwer, op Intel en Apple Silicon (M1 en nieuwer). Op Windows: Windows 10 of 11 (64-bit). Dit geldt voor alle drie de apps.
QRoom en QLab
Is er een QLab-alternatief voor Windows?
Ja, voor audio. QLab draait alleen op de Mac. QRoom is een audio-cuespeler voor Mac én Windows, die werkt zoals je dat van QLab kent: een cuelijst met GO, groepcues, fades, start- en stopcues en een playlist-modus. QRoom doet alleen audio, dus geen video of licht.
Kan ik mijn QLab-show openen in QRoom?
Ja. QRoom opent QLab 5-showbestanden (.qlab5) direct, zonder dat QLab geïnstalleerd hoeft te zijn. De audiocues en groepen komen mee; videocues worden overgeslagen.
Welke audioformaten speelt QRoom af?
WAV, MP3, FLAC en andere gangbare formaten, ook door elkaar in één cuelijst. QRoom ondersteunt ook multikanaal-audio.
Kan ik QRoom aansturen met OSC?
Ja. QRoom spreekt QLab-compatibele OSC. QBridge en andere showcontrol-systemen die QLab via OSC aansturen, sturen QRoom op dezelfde manier aan.
QBridge en bediening
Hoe koppel ik een Stream Deck aan QLab?
Met QBridge. Sluit de Stream Deck via USB aan op de computer waarop QBridge draait, of zet hem via het netwerk op een Raspberry Pi ergens anders in de zaal. QBridge vertaalt de knoppen naar cues in QLab of QRoom en stuurt de status terug: standby, lopende cues en cuekleuren.
Kan ik QLab via het netwerk bedienen met een Stream Deck of X-keys?
Ja. Sluit de Stream Deck of het X-keys-toetsenbord aan op een Raspberry Pi in het netwerk. De Pi praat met QBridge, en QBridge met QLab of QRoom. Zo kan je bediening bij de regie of in de coulissen staan, los van de showcomputer.
Welke bediening werkt met QBridge?
Een QPanel (10" tafelpanel), het HTML5-webpanel in een browser, een Stream Deck en een X-keys-toetsenbord. Je kunt ze ook tegelijk gebruiken.
Heb ik een app nodig voor het webpanel?
Nee. Het webpanel werkt in elke moderne browser, op een tablet, telefoon of computer in hetzelfde netwerk. QBridge laat het adres zien dat je in de browser opent.
Ondersteunt QBridge MIDI?
Nee, nog niet. QBridge werkt met OSC naar QLab en QRoom, en met de bediening die hierboven staat.
QEdit
Wat kan QEdit?
QEdit is een stereo audio-editor voor showgeluid en soundscapes. Je werkt met delen op een tijdlijn in Slip- of Shuffle-modus, maakt fades en crossfades, tekent een volumelijn, knipt en plakt op meerdere plekken tegelijk en normaliseert. Je past snelheid en toonhoogte aan, transponeert in halve tonen en bewerkt met bulk edit een hele reeks bestanden in één keer. Exporteer als WAV of MP3, of stuur je bewerking direct naar QRoom.
Licenties en kopen
Hoe werkt een licentie?
Een licentie geldt voor één computer en blijft altijd geldig. Updates binnen dezelfde hoofdversie zijn gratis. Je activeert met een licentiecode of een licentiebestand; je ontvangt ze per mail na betaling. Je kunt per app kopen of de hele Q-serie in één keer. Bekijk de prijzen.
Kan ik eerst proberen?
Ja. Vraag een gratis proeflicentie van 30 dagen aan via [email protected].
Heb ik een tweede licentie nodig voor een back-upcomputer?
Een tweede computer, als reserve of voor repetities, koop je voor de helft van de prijs. Je kiest dat bij het afrekenen.
Kan ik een app huren voor één productie?
Ja. QBridge en QRoom kun je per maand huren. Zie Kopen.
Kan ik op factuur betalen?
Wil je als theater of bedrijf op rekening betalen, met een inkoopordernummer? Mail [email protected] voor een offerte.
Installatie
Krijg ik op de Mac een beveiligingsmelding?
Nee. De Mac-apps zijn ondertekend en genotariseerd door Apple. macOS vraagt alleen de eerste keer of je een app van internet wilt openen; klik op Open.
Windows geeft een blauwe SmartScreen-melding. Wat nu?
De Windows-versies zijn (nog) niet ondertekend. Klik in de melding op Meer info en daarna op Toch uitvoeren. Dat hoeft maar één keer per app. Download de apps alleen van qseries.nl.

What is the Q-series?
The Q-series is show control and audio software for theatres, show callers, sound designers and AV integrators. There are three apps: QBridge connects your controls to QLab and QRoom, QRoom plays your audio cues and QEdit is a stereo audio editor for show audio. Each app works on its own, and together they cover the whole chain from audio file to GO.
What are the system requirements?

Is there a QLab alternative for Windows?
Yes, for audio. QLab only runs on the Mac. QRoom is an audio cue player for both Mac and Windows that works the way you know from QLab: a cue list with GO, group cues, fades, start and stop cues and a playlist mode. QRoom does audio only, so no video or lighting.
Can I open my QLab show in QRoom?
Yes. QRoom opens QLab 5 show files (.qlab5) directly, without QLab being installed. Audio cues and groups come across; video cues are skipped.
Which audio formats does QRoom play?
WAV, MP3, FLAC and other common formats, mixed in one cue list. QRoom also supports multichannel audio.
Can I control QRoom with OSC?
Yes. QRoom speaks QLab-compatible OSC. QBridge and other show control systems that drive QLab over OSC drive QRoom the same way.
QBridge and controls
How do I connect a Stream Deck to QLab?
With QBridge. Plug the Stream Deck into the computer running QBridge over USB, or run it over the network on a Raspberry Pi elsewhere in the venue. QBridge turns the buttons into cues in QLab or QRoom and sends the status back: standby, running cues and cue colours.
Can I control QLab over the network with a Stream Deck or X-keys?
Yes. Connect the Stream Deck or X-keys keypad to a Raspberry Pi on the network. The Pi talks to QBridge, and QBridge talks to QLab or QRoom. That way your controls can sit at the desk or in the wings, away from the show computer.
Which controls work with QBridge?
A QPanel (10" tabletop panel), the HTML5 web panel in a browser, a Stream Deck and an X-keys keypad. You can also use them at the same time.
Do I need an app for the web panel?
No. The web panel works in any modern browser, on a tablet, phone or computer on the same network. QBridge shows the address to open in the browser.
Does QBridge support MIDI?
No, not yet. QBridge works with OSC to QLab and QRoom, and with the controls listed above.
QEdit
What can QEdit do?
QEdit is a stereo audio editor for show audio and soundscapes. You work with clips on a timeline in Slip or Shuffle mode, make fades and crossfades, draw a volume line, cut and paste at several places at once and normalise. You change speed and pitch, transpose in semitones and use bulk edit to process a whole set of files in one go. Export as WAV or MP3, or send your edit straight to QRoom.
Licences and buying
How does a licence work?
A licence is valid on one computer and never expires. Updates within the same major version are free. You activate with a licence code or a licence file, which you receive by email after payment. You can buy per app or the whole Q-series at once. See the prices.
Can I try before I buy?
Yes. Request a free 30-day trial licence at [email protected].
Do I need a second licence for a backup computer?
A second computer, as a spare or for rehearsals, costs half the price. You choose it at checkout.
Can I rent an app for one production?
Yes. QBridge and QRoom can be rented per month. See Buy.
Can I pay by invoice?
Are you a theatre or company that wants to pay on account, with a purchase order number? Email [email protected] for a quote.
Installation
Will I get a security warning on the Mac?
No. The Mac apps are signed and notarised by Apple. macOS only asks the first time whether you want to open an app downloaded from the internet; click Open.
Windows shows a blue SmartScreen message. What now?
The Windows versions are not signed (yet). In the message, click More info and then Run anyway. You only need to do this once per app. Only download the apps from qseries.nl.
